Fallen Love is a celebration of the passion and perseverance of our young star dancer, Iliana María Taureaux Gutiérrez, from the Island of Youth in Cuba.

 

Iliana has a difficult journey. Indeed, at the age of 6, she suffered from acute encephalitis, caused by a parasite that lodged in her brain mass. As a result, Iliana became completely blind and paralyzed on the left side of her body.

 

Despite this terrible illness, Iliana never gave up. She clung to her dream of becoming a dancer, which was the driving force behind her recovery.

 

After a hospitalization of more than 7 months, then a rehabilitation of 14 months, Iliana regained her sight and overcame her paralysis. She then enrolled in professional dance classes.

 

In 2021, she entered the competition of the greatest dance school in Cuba, the Ballet Liszt Alfonso. Based on her story, Iliana created a choreography that won her 3rd place in the Liszt Alfonso international dance competition.

 

For us, it was important to highlight this young artist and share with you her inspiring journey.
